A man is discovered just inside the tree line on the northbound side of U.S. 301 On May 25, 1981, the body of 36-year-old Victor Eugene Garbe Jr. was found in Sussex County, Virginia, just inside the tree line on the northbound side of U.S. Route 301, about 0.2 miles north of the Greensville County line. He had been shot in the back of the head, and investigators believe he was murdered sometime after leaving Florida two days earlier.
