A 12 year old dies as a result of arson
On September 24, 2003, 12-year-old Jonathan Anthony Pelham tragically lost his life in a suspicious house fire in Virginia Beach. Firefighters responded to a blaze at approximately 3:42 a.m. at a townhome located on Hampstead Court in the Weblin Place neighborhood. Upon arrival, they found the house fully engulfed in flames. Jonathan was found inside and, despite rescue efforts, he succumbed to smoke inhalation.
