A man is found dead near Sweeney Pond
Roger Gene Jeffreys, a 22-year-old from Clay, Kentucky, disappeared in September 1984 after telling his family he was heading to Canada. His decomposed body was found by hunters on November 2, 1985, in a wooded area near Sweeney Pond in Glover, Vermont, buried in a shallow grave. The autopsy revealed he had died from blunt force trauma to the head.
