In a tragic and violent episode that unfolded in Burlington, Vermont, 26-year-old Anthony R. Smith Jr. of Vergennes was killed. The fatal incident took place on the night of Sunday, November 12, 2023, at an apartment on Decatur Street. Police responded to reports of gunfire and discovered a grim scene. Smith and another man, 27-year-old Khalif M. Jones of Stowe, were found inside the residence, both having sustained gunshot wounds to the head. Smith was pronounced dead at the scene.
