Lloyd "Pat" Fitzgerald, a 27-year-old employee of the Burlington Electric and Light Department, disappeared on October 2, 1972, from Burlington, Vermont. His body was discovered five months later, on March 4, 1973, in a remote cornfield near the Ethan Allen Homestead. The investigation revealed that Fitzgerald had been shot, and his death was ruled a homicide by the Chief Medical Examiner.
