On the evening of May 10, 2018, a grim discovery was made at a residence on Edwina Drive in Little Rock, Arkansas. A woman, concerned for her mother's well-being, went to check on her, only to find a scene of tragedy. Inside the home, she found her mother, 47-year-old Shirley Kirklin, and a man, later identified as 58-year-old Timothy Williams, both deceased from gunshot wounds.
Police were called to the scene at approximately 6:30 p.m.
and immediately began an investigation into the two deaths. The preliminary findings of the investigation led authorities to believe that the incident was a murder-suicide. It appeared that Williams had shot and killed Kirklin before turning the gun on himself.
The bodies of both Kirklin and Williams were found within the residence, and they were pronounced dead at the scene. The case, as investigated by the Little Rock police, pointed towards Williams as the sole suspect in Kirklin's death, with his subsequent suicide concluding the tragic event. As the perpetrator was also deceased, no arrests were made in the case.
