On January 8, 2015, 60-year-old Willie Stanley was found deceased in his Houston, Texas, residence. The Houston Police Department responded to a welfare check at Stanley's home after neighbors reported not seeing him for several days. Upon entry, officers discovered Stanley's body with multiple stab wounds, indicating a violent attack. The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences later confirmed that Stanley died from these injuries, classifying the case as a homicide.
