Samuel Harrison Stitt, a 23-year-old African American male, was found shot to death in a north Charlotte apartment on August 8, 2019. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department responded to the scene at the 1400 block of Ventura Way shortly before 9 p.m. and discovered Stitt with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The police immediately began canvassing the area to determine if there were any additional witnesses to the incident.
