Melvin Eugene Bell, a 59-year-old African American man, was tragically killed on May 5, 2019, in Charlotte, North Carolina. On that fateful night, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officers, who were on an unrelated call, heard gunshots around 11:15 p.m. They patrolled the area and found Bell on Washburn Avenue near Monroe Road. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Medic. The investigation revealed that Bell had been shot, leading to his untimely death.
