On a late September evening in Oklahoma City, tragedy struck the community. Eric Wayne Shanks, a 33-year-old African-American man, was found shot just before 10 p.m. on September 28, 2015. His body was discovered near the Windsor Village Apartments in the northwest part of the city. Despite a quick response from emergency services, Shanks was pronounced dead at the scene, his life cut short by an act of violence.
