Carlos Mena Pineda, a 45-year-old Hispanic man, tragically lost his life on September 23, 2021, in Houston, Texas. He was fatally shot by Santos Melendez-Granados, the ex-boyfriend of Mena's girlfriend, in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 13100 block of Stonefield Drive. Mena was with his girlfriend when Melendez-Granados approached them and opened fire with a shotgun, hitting Mena multiple times. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Mena was pronounced dead upon arrival.
