On the evening of May 16, 2024, at approximately 9 p.m., Houston police responded to reports of a shooting at a hotel located on the service road of 6 North Sam Houston Parkway East (Beltway 8). Upon arrival, officers discovered 24-year-old Edmund Parker unresponsive in a hotel room, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound. Paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.
