On what was supposed to be a routine trip to a tax preparation office on April 15, 2013, a chain of events began that would end in the tragic death of Jorge Isaac Insignares. The 62-year-old male had driven with his wife from their home in Murfreesboro to an H&R Block on Nolensville Pike in Nashville. After dropping his wife off at the entrance shortly after noon, the plan was for him to park their white Lincoln Town Car and wait for her.
However, when she finished, he and the car were nowhere to be found.
The search for Jorge Insignares came to a grim conclusion the following day. On Tuesday, April 16, 2013, he was discovered deceased in the passenger seat of the family's car. The vehicle had been left at 4840 Jonquil Drive, near Verbena Drive, a location where it had reportedly been seen since Monday afternoon. An investigation revealed that he had died from gunshot wounds.
Residents in the area where the Lincoln was found reported hearing gunshots in the early afternoon on Monday, April 15, aligning with the time frame of his disappearance. Investigators noted that there were indications robbery may have been a motive in the killing.
As of now, the case of Jorge Isaac Insignares's death remains an unsolved cold case. No suspects have been publicly identified, and no arrests have been made in connection with the homicide. The Nashville Police Department continues to seek information from the public that might lead to a breakthrough in the investigation and bring closure to the family of the slain man.
