On New Year's Day in 2016, the city of Memphis recorded its first homicide of the year with the death of Patrick Couch, a 49-year-old male. He was discovered unresponsive in the driveway of a residence in the 1000 block of South Fourth Street. Upon their arrival, authorities found that Couch had sustained a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
