Charles Brown, a 33-year-old man, was killed in the early morning hours of March 3, 2009, in Southwest Philadelphia. The shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. near South 56th Street and Belmar Street, where Brown was struck twice in the chest.

After the gunfire, Brown was rushed to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, but he did not survive. He was pronounced dead at the hospital, turning the quiet overnight scene near 56th and Belmar into the site of a homicide investigation. ...
