Devon Strickland, an 18-year-old from Philadelphia, was fatally shot on August 29, 2012. The incident occurred outdoors, which is consistent with a majority of homicides in Philadelphia during that time, where about 75.8% of murders happened in public places. Devon was found with multiple gunshot wounds, and despite medical efforts, he did not survive his injuries.
