Carnez Boone, a 39-year-old Black male from Philadelphia, was killed on February 5, 2014, after gunfire broke out near the 1900 block of North Myrtlewood Street in North Philadelphia. Police were called to the area around 6:49 to 6:50 p.m. for reports of gunshots, and when officers arrived, Boone was already being placed into a Philadelphia Housing Police vehicle. He had suffered a gunshot wound to the neck and was rushed to Hahnemann University Hospital, where he died that evening.
