Joseph Newman Jr., a 68-year-old resident of Philadelphia, was fatally shot on October 31, 2015. The shooting took place at approximately 9:22 p.m. at a residence on the 5500 block of Sprague Street. Newman was discovered on the porch, suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was rushed to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he was admitted in critical condition. Despite the efforts of medical staff, Joseph Newman Jr. succumbed to his injuries on November 1, 2015.
