Joseph Newman Jr., a 68-year-old resident of Philadelphia, was fatally shot on October 31, 2015. The shooting took place at approximately 9:22 p.m. at a residence on the 5500 block of Sprague Street. Newman was discovered on the porch, suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was rushed to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he was admitted in critical condition.
