On a Thursday afternoon in Philadelphia, the 4th of February, 2016, a burst of violence on the 100 block of West Dauphin Street cut short the life of Norman Fletcher. A 28-year-old Hispanic male, Fletcher was found by Philadelphia Police officers who responded to a call at 1:24 p.m. He had been shot multiple times.
Emergency responders rushed Fletcher to Temple University Hospital, but his injuries were too severe, and he succumbed to them later that afternoon. At the same scene, another man, a 20-year-old Hispanic male, was also found with gunshot wounds. He was transported to the same hospital and was admitted in critical condition.
Norman Fletcher, who resided on the 4200 block of Palmetto Street, became another victim of the city's ongoing gun violence. In the years that have passed, his case remains unsolved. The Philadelphia Police Department continues to seek information from the public, hoping that even the smallest detail might lead to a breakthrough in the investigation and bring justice to Fletcher and his family. As of now, there have been no arrests, and no suspects have been publicly identified in connection with his death.
