On October 11, 2017, 16-year-old Messiah Chiverton, a junior at Frankford High School in Northeast Philadelphia, was shot in the head during a confrontation with other teens in the 2100 block of Magee Avenue. He succumbed to his injuries four days later, on October 15, 2017. The incident occurred during a fight involving a group of students from Frankford High School and another group from Northeast High School.
