On a Tuesday evening in Philadelphia, the 13th of December in 2016, tragedy struck on the 5000 block of Frankford Avenue. Twenty-nine-year-old Aaron Young, a Black male, was on the street when gunfire erupted at approximately 7:21 p.m. Philadelphia Police officers who responded to the scene discovered Young suffering from several gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Aria-Torresdale Hospital for medical attention.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Aaron Young succumbed to his injuries
and was pronounced dead that night. The violence of that evening was not limited to him alone; another individual, a 35-year-old man, was also shot multiple times during the same incident. He was transported to Temple University Hospital in critical condition.
The case of Aaron Young's death remains an open and unsolved homicide. Law enforcement officials have not publicly identified any suspects in the shooting, and no arrests have been made in connection with the murder. The Philadelphia Police Department continues to seek information from the public that might lead to a breakthrough in the investigation and bring closure to the family and friends of Aaron Young.
