In the early hours of Sunday, August 16, 2026, Alhassane Barry, a 29-year-old off-duty Philadelphia police officer, was shot and killed outside an after-hours lounge in the Elmwood Park neighborhood of the city. The incident occurred around 4 a.m. on the 7200 block of Elmwood Avenue, where a dispute escalated into violence.
