On the night of April 30, 1986, Michael Koseniensky, a 33-year-old mechanic and car salesman, was at his home in Portland, Oregon, when he answered a knock at his front door. At approximately 9:58 p.m., Koseniensky was shot upon opening the door. His wife, who heard the gunshots, found him lying in the entryway and immediately called 911. Koseniensky was rushed to the hospital but eventually succumbed to his injuries on June 20, 1986.
