On the morning of February 9, 1983, Elamari Magdud, a 25-year-old Libyan student at the University of Portland, was found dead in the parking lot of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. His body was discovered naked, and his clothing was scattered around the scene. Magdud, who had been studying machine design, had reportedly been involved in a large fight earlier that night at the Portsmouth Club.
