In the early summer of 2003, the quiet community of Hillsboro, Oregon, was disturbed by a grim discovery. The remains of a 48-year-old Hispanic male, Jose Socorro Chavez, were found in June of that year. His body was located in the vicinity of the 5100 block of NE Belknap Court. It was tragically determined that Chavez had been the victim of a homicide.
