Manuel “Uel” Carrillo was a 54-year-old man living in Tulsa, Oklahoma when his life was cut short at the very beginning of 1993. In the early hours of January 3, he ended up in a vacant lot tucked behind the Pit Stop convenience store on North Peoria Avenue, a busy corridor that cuts through north Tulsa. Later that day, someone came across his body lying in that lot, behind and just east of the store at 1627 N. Peoria, and the discovery turned an ordinary winter day into the start of a linge ...
