Do you know what happened to Tony? In the winter of 2005, the life of Tony Bernard Williams, a 38-year-old man from Tulsa, Oklahoma, came to a violent and tragic end. In the late hours of a December evening, at least two individuals broke into Williams's home. They forced him from his bed and out of his house, compelling him into the backseat of a stolen Chevrolet Caprice. He was then driven approximately 25 blocks from his residence to the 200 block of East 66th Street North.
There, in the stillness of the night, his
abductors shot him at point-blank range and left him in the abandoned vehicle. A deputy on patrol later discovered the stolen car and, upon investigation, found Williams's body in the rear seat. Investigators determined that he had been both beaten and shot. At the time of the discovery, he had no identification on him and was initially listed as a John Doe. Fingerprints later confirmed his identity.
Detectives believe the act was a well-planned execution, possibly stemming from a conflict with a rival gang, as Williams was known to have been an active gang member. Despite the circumstances surrounding his death, the case grew cold over the years. No arrests have ever been made in connection with the kidnapping and murder of Tony Bernard Williams, leaving his case an unsolved homicide. He was a carpenter by trade, working on rental properties in the north Tulsa area.
