Lena Mozelle Scott, a 25-year-old female, found herself in a heated argument in the parking lot of The Zone, a local club situated at 6300 S. Peoria. The dispute on March 21, 1998, was with at least one person inside an older model white pickup truck.
The verbal altercation took a violent turn when the truck suddenly accelerated, striking Lena.
The force of the impact knocked her to the ground, and she was then horrifically dragged for several hundred feet. The pickup truck fled the scene, leaving Lena with fatal injuries. She died there in the parking lot, her life extinguished in a moment of senseless violence.
Despite the public nature of the location, the individual or individuals in the white pickup truck have never been identified. The case has since gone cold, leaving behind a painful void for those who knew Lena and a lingering mystery for the Tulsa community. Law enforcement continues to seek information that might lead to an arrest and finally bring a measure of justice for Lena Scott. To this day, no suspects have been named, and no arrests have been made in connection with her death.
