On April 1, 2007, 16-year-old Julio Jose Varnell was shot and killed while walking down a street in Oklahoma City at approximately 10 p.m. Two men approached him in a car, and one of them exited the vehicle and opened fire, shooting Julio multiple times. He was rushed to OU Medical Center but succumbed to his injuries. Despite an investigation into the murder, the case remains unsolved, with no arrests made to date.
