On the morning of February 3rd, the body of 35-year-old Nickolas 'Nick' Adams, a member of the Sisseton-Wahpeton tribe, was found in the park's pond. Investigators determined that he had not been in the water for a very long time. An autopsy would later reveal the brutal nature of his death, which was ruled a homicide caused by blunt force trauma to the head and drowning.
