In a tragic turn of events on January 14, 2014, Lemont Watson, a 36-year-old Black male, was fatally shot in a Tulsa, Oklahoma apartment. The incident unfolded in the presence of his girlfriend and her 11-year-old daughter.

The perpetrator was identified as Marquis Morris, the ex-boyfriend of Watson's girlfriend. Morris forcibly entered the apartment and opened fire, striking Watson. Following the shooting, Morris abducted the 11-year-old girl, which triggered an Amber Alert.
