In the winter of 2017, a life was tragically cut short in Oklahoma City, leaving a family grieving and a community searching for answers. Georgio Latorris Harris, a 27-year-old Black man, became the victim of a fatal shooting on the evening of January 28th. The violent encounter unfolded in the parking lot of an apartment complex situated in the 7000 block of South Walker Avenue.
Following the shooting, Harris was privately transported to a local hospital in a desperate attempt to save
his life. Medical personnel fought to overcome the severe injuries he had sustained, but their efforts were ultimately in vain. Three days later, on January 31, 2017, Georgio Harris succumbed to his wounds, and his death was officially classified as a homicide by the Oklahoma City Police Department.
In the wake of the deadly shooting, law enforcement launched a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding Harris's death.
