On February 17, 1993, Tewolde Woldu, a 32-year-old cab driver originally from Ethiopia, was found dead in Columbus, Ohio. Woldu had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head and face. The incident occurred south of 940 Caldwell Place in Columbus, in Franklin County. Despite the investigation carried out by the Columbus Police Department, the case remains unsolved, and the motive behind the shooting has not been clarified.
Woldu had moved to the United States to seek a peaceful life, fleeing conflict in his home country. Sadly, his life was cut short in this violent manner, and authorities are still seeking any information that could help bring his killer to justice. The Ohio Attorney General’s Office, along with the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, continues to urge the public for tips that might assist in solving this cold case. Crime Stoppers and other local agencies remain involved, hoping to gather new leads from anyone who might have witnessed the incident or knows something relevant to the case.
