On July 9, 2009, Charles Eason, a 38-year-old resident of San Francisco, was the victim of a homicide. Eason was found fatally shot in his vehicle, which had crashed in a public-housing development in the Potrero Hill neighborhood. The circumstances surrounding his death were particularly alarming, as investigators suspected that Eason had been targeted. The exact motives and suspects involved in his murder were not immediately clear at the time, and this crime remains unsolved.
