Rodolfo Carreon, a 71-year-old man, was beaten to death on March 27, 2008, in San Francisco while he was about to have a smoke. The incident occurred in the Tenderloin neighborhood, an area with a history of crime and violence. Authorities responded to reports of an assault and found Carreon critically injured.
