On January 1, 2008, Marcus Antoine Peppars, a 26-year-old man, was shot and killed outside a nightclub in San Francisco’s South of Market (SoMa) neighborhood. The shooting occurred around 4:50 a.m. after Peppars had exited a club on 9th Street. According to witnesses, the suspect fled the scene on foot, and despite efforts from law enforcement, no arrests were made at the time.
