Phillip Gaston, a 23-year-old resident of San Francisco, was shot and killed on October 10, 2016, near an elementary school in the Ingleside Heights neighborhood. The incident took place in the evening, adding to a wave of violence in the city during that month, which had already seen several other fatal shootings.
