Anthony Hernandez Guizar was remembered by his family as a funny, attentive, and caring 15-year-old boy. A male who loved his family, friends, and his dog, he enjoyed playing basketball, drawing, rapping, and playing video games. His life was cut short in a burst of gunfire on a Saturday afternoon, a killing that police believe was sparked by something as simple as spray-painting on a wall.
The afternoon of October 10, 2026, found Anthony and a 17-year-old friend in an alley near the 700
block of Court Street in Pasco, Washington. It was around 4:15 p.m., and the two were reportedly spray-painting gang-related graffiti behind a local business. According to court documents based on surveillance footage, a Toyota pulled up and four people, each armed with a gun, got out and immediately opened fire on the two teenagers. Witnesses reported hearing as many as 20 shots.
When Pasco police officers and medics arrived, they found a devastating scene. Anthony was dying from a gunshot wound to his chest, and his 17-year-old companion had suffered a graze wound to the head. The older teen had been the one to call 911. Both were rushed to Kadlec Regional Medical Center, but Anthony did not survive.
The aftermath of the shooting was marked by a particularly cruel act. According to court documents, some of the suspects allegedly returned to where Anthony lay dying. They reportedly filmed him, stole his sneakers, and created a video that circulated on social media. The video allegedly showed someone’s shoe on Anthony’s neck, with the words “Stomping on your dead bros” typed across the image.
The investigation, led by the Pasco Police Department, moved quickly. Within days, they arrested four members of one family. Salvador Corona Jr., 43, was arrested during a traffic stop on October 13. His son, 22-year-old Salvador Corona III, had been arrested earlier after showing up at Lourdes Medical Center with a gunshot wound to his stomach. It remains unclear if he was shot by the teens he attacked or by one of his own family members. The two younger sons of Salvador Corona Jr., 15-year-old Elijah Corona and 13-year-old Eleazar Corona, were also taken into custody. A fifth, unnamed suspect was arrested on October 15 when the Tri-Cities Regional SWAT Team served a warrant at a home on Court Street.
All four members of the Corona family were charged with second-degree murder, first-degree assault, and drive-by shooting. Bail for Salvador Corona Jr. and Salvador Corona III was set at $1 million each. Bail for Elijah and Eleazar Corona was set at $500,000 and $600,000, respectively. In court appearances in mid-October 2026, Salvador Corona III pleaded not guilty. Pasco police officials described the shooting as gang-related and urged the community to provide options for young people to keep them away from gang life.
In the wake of his death, Anthony’s family started a GoFundMe page to help with funeral costs. On the page, a relative wrote, "Anthony was a funny, attentive, and overall caring person. He constantly showed his love and appreciation for his family, friends, and dog. Forever loved and missed." The investigation into Anthony's murder was ongoing as of late October 2026. Anyone with information about the shooting was asked to contact the Pasco Police Department.
