Marquelis Shaquan Barnes, a 16-year-old Black male from Columbus, Ohio, tragically lost his life on June 29, 2017. Born on October 24, 2000, Marquelis was a rising senior at Focus Learning Academy and was known for his love of music, basketball, and spending time outdoors. He was affectionately called "Quel-Bandz" by those close to him. His family and friends remember him as a kind and gentle spirit who was deeply loved.
