On May 28, 1987, Herman Burton, aged 47, was fatally shot during a home invasion at his residence in Columbus, Ohio. The incident occurred at his apartment located at 3688 Cleveland Avenue, where he was with several other people at the time. During the invasion, two white male suspects armed with guns forcibly entered the apartment.
