Larry N. Mausali, a 24-year-old male of Filipino ethnicity, tragically died on April 25, 2014, in Columbus, OH. He was born on March 23, 1990, in Orange County, CA, and resided in Parkersburg, WV. Mausali's death was the result of a violent incident involving a robbery gone wrong.
On the day of his death, Mausali and his accomplice, Heather Chantelle Jarvis, traveled from Parkersburg to Columbus with the intent to rob Kenneth Owens, the father of a man who had allegedly taken $1,200 from
them for heroin but never delivered the drug. Upon finding Owens at his home on Hague Avenue, Mausali and Jarvis kidnapped him at gunpoint and forced him to drive to an ATM to withdraw money. During the drive, Owens managed to retrieve his own handgun and shot Mausali.
Despite the tragic outcome, Owens was not charged for the shooting, as he had a concealed-carry permit. Instead, the focus of the investigation turned to Jarvis, who was later arrested and charged with multiple counts, including murder, aggravated robbery, and kidnapping. Jarvis eventually pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and aggravated robbery, receiving a 10-year prison sentence.
The case highlighted the severe consequences of committing crimes, especially when they result in the loss of life. Mausali's death serves as a somber reminder of the potential ramifications of criminal activities and the importance of making lawful choices.
