On December 22, 1979, Vernon Little, aged 51, was shot and killed during a robbery at the KAYO Service Station located at 2780 Morse Road in Columbus, Ohio. The incident took place during what appeared to be a robbery attempt, leaving Little fatally wounded. He was employed at the service station at the time of the incident. The Franklin County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene, but despite efforts to investigate, the case remains unsolved to this day.
