On March 24, 2008, Andrew Babyak, along with three others, was found dead in an apartment at Tree Top Apartments on High Meadow Lane in Charlotte, North Carolina. Police arrived at the scene early in the morning after being called to check on the welfare of the apartment's residents. Inside, they discovered the bodies of Babyak, Cherilyn Crawford, William Royster, and Timothy Stone, all victims of a violent shooting.
This case remained unsolved for over a decade, leaving the community shaken. In 2019, after renewed investigation efforts by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, Dominick Daise was arrested and charged in connection with the quadruple homicide. However, police believe that Daise did not act alone, and the case remains an open investigation as authorities continue their efforts to uncover additional information. Babyak, originally from Tega Cay, South Carolina, was one of the four whose lives were tragically cut short in this brutal crime.
