In the late hours of August 21, 2026, the quiet of a Milton Turnpike residence in the Town of Plattekill, New York, was shattered by a grim discovery. Inside the home lay the bodies of 54-year-old Melinda S. "Mindy" Brugger and her 66-year-old husband, James "Jimmy" Brugger. A family member and a friend, upon finding the couple unconscious and unresponsive, immediately dialed 911 shortly before midnight.
