A summer night of celebration turned into a tragedy in the popular Lake Erie island destination of Put-in-Bay, Ohio. On July 23, 2026, Robert Russell, a 39-year-old man from Chesterland, Ohio, was fatally shot at Mr. Ed's Bar & Grille. He was on the island with his wife, Lindsay, to celebrate his upcoming 40th birthday, which was the very next day.
