On November 20, 2024, 9-year-old Alex Louks was found deceased in his Amherst Township, Ohio, home, alongside his mother, 46-year-old Risa Louks. Firefighters responded to a reported fire at the residence around 7:30 a.m. Upon extinguishing the flames, they discovered the bodies of both mother and child. Investigations by the Lorain County Sheriff's Office suggest that Risa Louks fatally shot her son before attempting to set the house on fire and subsequently taking her own life.
