In the quiet town of Madison, New York, the summer of 2026 was shattered by a tragic event that claimed the lives of a respected local couple. On Friday, August 7, 2026, Steve M. Sislo, a 76-year-old man, was found deceased in his home on McCormick Road. He was discovered alongside his 72-year-old wife, Donna M. Walker-Sislo. Both had suffered fatal gunshot wounds in what authorities would soon describe as a horrific double murder and suicide.
The person responsible for this devastating act was their own son, 35-year-old Justin Sislo, who took his own life after killing his parents.
The grim discovery was made after deputies from the Madison County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the Sislo residence for a welfare check. He was facing a litany of 24 charges, including felony counts of second-degree assault and second-degree strangulation, stemming from a domestic violence incident involving a girlfriend. Authorities had previously executed a search warrant at his home, seizing multiple firearms. Despite a court order prohibiting him from possessing guns, Justin Sislo managed to obtain the weapon he used in the murder-suicide. Records also indicated a history of domestic disputes, including a minor physical altercation with his father in 2024, though no charges were filed at that time.
