In the early morning hours of the Fourth of July, 2026, the life of 55-year-old Adeyinka Aderemi was tragically cut short in Washington, D.C. At approximately 5:54 a.m., officers from the Metropolitan Police Department's Fifth District responded to a call about an unconscious person in the 1800 block of Irving Street, Northeast. Upon their arrival, they discovered Mr. Aderemi, a resident of Northeast D.C., unresponsive and not breathing.
Emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene, but sadly, they could find no signs of life and he was pronounced dead. His body was then transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the official cause of death through an autopsy.
The Metropolitan Police Department swiftly launched a homicide investigation into the circumstances surrounding Adeyinka Aderemi's death. Detectives from the Homicide Branch began canvassing the area and seeking to establish a motive for the killing. While some reports indicated that Mr. Aderemi had been fatally shot, the police have been focused on gathering all available information.
