In the early morning hours of July 6, 2026, the life of 19-year-old Turray Simms of Northeast, DC, was tragically cut short. At approximately 4:30 a.m., officers from the Metropolitan Police Department's Sixth District responded to a report of a person down in the 2500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast. Upon arrival, they found Simms suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
