On the evening of December 29, 2022, a burst of gunfire shattered the night in the 2700 block of 7th Street Northeast in Washington, D.C. When police arrived at approximately 7:14 p.m., they discovered 50-year-old Aniekobo Macaulay Umoh, a Black man from Brandywine, Maryland, suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency medical services rushed him to a nearby hospital, but his life could not be saved.
